A boy or girl - is there a way to influence the gender of your baby?

Certainly there are many spectacular rumours circulating about how you can influence the sex of your baby. But on our page you will only find well-researched scientific theories about the topic that might actually help you to conceive a baby of your desired gender.

The moment of sex

The most convincing theory claims that there is a relation between the day of you having sex with your partner and the time of ovulation. Studies of the Harvard scientists Lendran B. Shettls and David M. have revealed that spermatozoa with an x-chromosome, which are responsible for the conception of a girl, live longer than the sperms bearing a y-chromosome, which are responsible for the conception of a boy. It is true that the sperms with a y-chromosome travel faster, but nonetheless they live no longer than one day.

The American scientist Karen Norberg has noted that a stable relationship favours the conception of a boy. Norberg argues that it is one of the main reasons for persons in a relationship having more sex, thus changing the hormonal balance of the woman. It appears that women who already have children are more likely to conceive a boy when they are in a relationship.
